Kim Salac is a multimedia artist and filmmaker. Hailing from a Filipino American background, their work takes on an intimate lens, centering family narratives as entry points to unpacking historical memory. Family, as connected to ancestral and cultural knowledge, becomes a shifting site of convergence for reckoning with immigration, otherness, and senses of belonging. Working largely in found footage and appropriation, they seek to explore the meaning of heritage and the consequences of colonialism in negotiating personhood, and homeland as part of diasporic experiences.
